Rolls-Royce Celebrates 100 Years of Phantom with Dazzling “Goldfinger” Debut at Villa d’Este
There are anniversaries, and then there are celebrations that feel like history wrapped in velvet and sprinkled with stardust. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars marked 100 years of its iconic Phantom with precisely that kind of affair at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 24, 2025. Set against the impossibly picturesque backdrop of Lake Como, the world’s most luxurious automotive nameplate received a tribute worthy of royalty and cinema legends alike. Basking under the Italian sun on the storied Mosaic Lawn of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, the one-of-one Phantom Goldfinger made its grand debut.
A shimmering homage to the 1964 James Bond classic Goldfinger, this bespoke Phantom Extended blended silver screen drama with golden-age elegance. It took inspiration from the villain Auric Goldfinger’s original 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville – a brooding beauty that also made a rare appearance at the event.
The new Phantom Goldfinger, however, plays an entirely different role. Drenched in opulent 18- and 24-carat gold accents, the Goldfinger edition oozes character and cinematic charm. Every detail, from bespoke interior cues to sly nods to the film’s most iconic moments, tells a story – one where craftsmanship meets a touch of espionage flair. It’s Rolls-Royce design as high art, with a dash of Bond mystique.
