Chanel becomes patron of the Comédie-Française

Journal Du Luxe

Already the main patron of the Grand Palais, Chanel is strengthening its commitment to the national cultural heritage by formalizing a new patronage of the Comédie-Française located in Place Colette, in the first arrondissement.

"Old houses have in their DNA a capacity to constantly reinvent themselves without erasing their original equation. This continuity in movement is the secret of their longevity ," says Eric Ruf, general administrator of the Comédie-Française since 2014, who will hand over his place to Clément Hervieu-Léger at the beginning of August.

This announcement comes as the historic premises of the institution, which programs 900 performances each year, will soon undergo major renovation work .
