TikTok has turned songs into No. 1 hits, birthed micro-trends and cultural movements and created a shared lexicon of jingles, phrases and vignettes among its 1.2 billion users, 70 per cent of whom are Gen Z, according to the video platform.

Despite #Fendi being in a time of transition following the departure of artistic director Kim Jones, the brand is trending on TikTok as users post their hauls and vintage finds. #Menshirts are having a styling moment with creators reimagining classic tailoring toward the tail-end of the summer. Just as kitten heels have taken off again in the mainstream, it seems that the pendulum may be swinging toward #platformheels, which are back in the spotlight as users show how to style the chunkier silhouettes.

Meanwhile, wearable and accessible luxury is winning over fans, particularly the #ToryBurchbag. The brand has been doing a big push on TikTok with creators showing off what’s in their bag.
