Girard-Perregaux Reimagines the Laureato in Diamonds and Sapphires

Lux Expose

Girard-Perregaux has taken its legendary Laureato and turned up the radiance with two new 38mm timepieces that celebrate light, shape, and the art of impeccable craftsmanship. The new Laureato 38mm models are miniature galaxies on the wrist, gleaming with diamonds, sapphires, and decades of horological heritage.

First launched in 1975, the Laureato has always been a standout. Its silhouette – a bold octagonal bezel layered over a round plinth and tonneau-shaped case – has a geometry that seems tailor-made for playing with light. And now, with bezels that catch the eye from across the room, that architectural charm has never sparkled brighter.

The first of the new Laureato 38mm models is an exercise in monochrome magic. A custom-made white gold bezel cradles 32 baguette-cut diamonds – approximately three carats in total – each invisibly set with the kind of precision that borders on obsessive. The unique widening of the octagonal bezel at each corner isn’t just a design flourish – it’s a masterstroke that allows each diamond to fit just right, lining up in perfect, light-catching harmony.
