Van Cleef & Arpels: love in motion
Journal du Luxe
Once upon a time, there was a marriage. That of Alfred Van Cleef, son of a lapidary, and Estelle Arpels, daughter of precious stone dealers. A founding alliance, a love sealed by the arts. From this union was born, in 1906, at 22 Place Vendôme, a Maison unlike any other. Van Cleef & Arpels. At the beginning, a couple. At the end, a tale of emotions etched in gold, gems, and time.
Love has always permeated every creation. It is not a theme, but a pulse. A common thread sewn by hand between precious stones, watchmaking complications, and artistic crafts. A poetic breath that the House expresses , generation after generation, with the delicacy of a loving gesture.
Once upon a time, there was also a kiss on a bridge. An intimate scene that spans the decades. Suspended between two hands. Engraved in hearts as well as on dials. The one from the Pont des Amoureux collection, which has become the emblem of a certain art of loving... Parisian style.
